BPA Post Autumn Budget Panel Seminar
Our MD, Alun Oliver FRICS, is delighted to be part of the line up for the next Bournemouth Property Association (BPA) seminar and panel discussion.
The event will take place less that two weeks after Labour’s first budget following their election win. Alun will be sharing insights into various aspects of property taxation and reaction to any particular Budget announcements, alongside Shaun Pettitt, MD of Wessex developer, Wyatt Homes and Cathy Revis, Head of Tax with Southampton practice, Fiander Tovell LLP.

What will we be discussing?
Shaun Pettitt will offer an overview of the Dorset/Wessex housing market place and issues across that impact the property and construction sectors from a local housebuilder’s perspective. Cathy Revis will be discuss the tax perspective and commenting on the recent Budget Statement with a particular focus on property, construction & SME business impact. Whilst Alun Oliver, will be discussing recent property tax news and how to optimise the available tax reliefs and avoid expensive pitfalls from CIL, Capital Allowances and Land Remediation Tax Relief.

Alun Oliver MBA FRICS, Managing Director, E³ Consulting
With over 30 years of experience, Alun is one of the UK’s leading experts in the field of property tax; advising clients on Capital Allowances, Repairs and Maintenance, Land Remediation Tax Relief and Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL). He is a regular speaker on property tax issues and E³ Consulting are twice winners of the prestigious Tolleys Taxation Awards for Best Independent Tax Consultancy Firm (2011 & 2024). Hobbies include golf, walking and watching Rugby - mostly in Cardiff!
Cathy Revis FCA CTA, Head of Tax, Partner of Fiander Tovell LLP
Cathy is a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Adviser with over 30 years experience, gained in both small and large accountancy practices. She specialises in Tax Advisory and M&A work. Her experience includes advising owners of businesses with values up to £100m on their business growth, reorganising, merging, acquiring and selling with an emphasis on the tax structuring. Cathy’s client base covers a range of sectors including Manufacturing; Distribution; Property Development and Investment; and Professional Services. Outside of work, Cathy loves hi-octane rollercoasters!
Shaun Pettitt MSc MRTPI, Managing Director, Wyatt Homes
Shaun is a Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute with over 20 years’ experience gained across roles in both the public and private sector. His career has entailed immediate and strategic land acquisition, and prior to taking up his current position as Wyatt Homes’ first ever external Managing Director in May 2023, he was a divisional Managing Director for a PLC Housebuilder. Outside of work, Shaun is married with four children and enjoys making the most of the Dorset coastline with his family, whilst also coaching a junior football team.
