Property Tax Surveyor
Role
Todd is a Property Tax Surveyor, who joined the E3 Consulting team in 2017.
He joined E3 as a Degree Apprentice, completing a BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying degree, through day release from the office, one day a week, at the University of Portsmouth – completing his studies in May 2022. He is currently progressing with his RICS APC to become a fully qualified Chartered Surveyor.
Todd’s main role consists of delivering projects for his clients to optimise the tax relief available on their capital expenditure relating to Capital Allowances and Land Remediation Tax Relief advice and identifying costs qualifying as Repairs & Maintenance expenditure. As well as assisting on delivering advice relating to the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) to a range of developer and private homeowner clients.
However, he also supports delivery on sales, marketing, and operational aspects of the business - including providing tax technical articles and factsheets for publishing internally and externally - all contributing to his personal and professional development and technical experience towards becoming a Chartered Surveyor.
Experience
Todd’s experience is developed from projects across many sectors, including: automotive, commercial, furnished holiday lets, health care, industrial & logistics, leisure & hospitality, student accommodation and residential.
His notable recent projects include the complex tax analysis of a £140m mixed use development in London, £17m border control and office building in the South and £10m portfolio of automotive showrooms and workshops across Dorset and Hampshire. As well as ongoing portfolio projects, one that exceeds £82m of logistics warehouses completed with numerous others in the pipeline in the East of England and the regeneration of former industrial estates across London and the North, exceeding £25m, to create creative arts and education centres.

Career & Qualification
Todd grew up in the Southampton area, attending school and college in Totton. After college, he gained valuable practical and commercial experience working in Catering & Hospitality for a leading global restaurant brand.
In July 2022, Todd graduated from University of Portsmouth with First Class Honours in BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying and an 84% grade average.
Todd received two commendations while at University - ‘Best BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying DA Level 4 Student’ and ‘2021 SCQS Prize for Best Overall Performance in Measurement’; in recognition of exceeding expectations with his level of engagement, as well as consistently attaining high level marks across all of his studies.
In September 2018, Todd was shortlisted for the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) Young Surveyor of the Year Award 2018.
Since August 2019, Todd has been a committee member for the Young Entrepreneurs in Property (YEP) Southampton chapter. YEP supports young people in the property and construction industry representing “entrepreneurs, rising stars and future leaders in the industry” – aiming to provide the best opportunities to build relationships, learn new skills and share ideas across a wide variety of events. Across the country YEP is also active in Birmingham, Bristol, Cambridge, Leeds, London, Manchester, Newcastle and Sheffield.
In May 2018, Todd achieved his Level 3 certificate in Coaching and Mentoring from the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), attending Southampton City College on a six week course.
Personal Information
Sports have always been a large part of Todd’s life. From a young age he has been a part of many sports teams. He played football from the age of four, and rugby for his local team Tottonians RFC from 16. Todd enjoys relaxing by playing golf at the weekends and spending time at the yard with his partner Faye and their horse.
