Real Estate Owners — Have you asked yourself these questions?
If you invest in, develop, own or occupy commercial or residential* real estate – Have you asked yourself these questions?
1. Could your cash flow be improved by enhancing your capital allowances relief?
- Do you hold significant capital assets in the course of your business?
- Do you spend more than £250,000 p.a. on property?
- Have you claimed all the available capital allowances?
2. Do you use a professional capital allowances specialist?
- Does your tax adviser highlight capital allowances on their website or in the tax team biographies or case studies?
- Does your property tax advice come from professionals dedicated to capital allowances work?
- Do you involve your capital allowances adviser in new acquisition transactions?
3. How do you verify you have a “top quality capital allowances specialist” advising you?
- What skills, professional qualifications and experience do your tax advisers have?
- Does your tax adviser proactively seek details of your property expenditures
- What awards have they won or articles have they had published in trade/industry media?
*Residential Opportunities
Capital allowances are not available on most residential property. However those properties used as Furnished Holiday Lettings (FHLs) in the UK or EEA, Homes of Multiple Occupation (HMOs) and the ‘common areas’ or large apartment blocks can potentially yield significant capital allowances. The rules are very complex and HM Revenue & Customs has increased its level of scrutiny in response to higher numbers of claims over the last five years or so.
Re-vitalise your Cash Flow
Capital Allowances, Land Remediation and VAT are complex areas of property taxation but can yield considerable tax savings. E3 Consulting are independent property taxation specialists regulated by RICS and registered with HMRC, so you can be sure of our professional and quality approach to helping you optimise your tax savings.
